Premier Chemicals and Life Support Engineering announce partnership to supply chemicals for use in commercial diving operations in Aberdeen, UK
Premier Chemicals, the UK based distributor of dive grade soda lime and other chemicals used in the commercial subsea diving sector, and Life Support Engineering (LSE), the Aberdeen based supplier and manufacturer of commercial diving equipment and consumables, have announced that LSE will provide storage and distribution services for Premier Chemicals in order to serve commercial subsea companies within Aberdeen.
Intersorb® 408 is a 4-8 mesh (2.5-5.0mm) dive grade soda lime manufactured in the UK by Intersurgical, and distributed by Premier Chemicals Ltd. Several Aberdeen based subsea contractors have been evaluating Intersorb® for removal of carbon dioxide within the saturation diving systems on board Dive Support Vessels (DSV’s) operating in the North Sea and around the world. Intersorb® 408 has been shown to give improved performance compared with other commercially available soda lime products, and as a result, the use of Intersorb® for commercial subsea applications has grown considerably during 2011. The partnership between Premier Chemicals and LSE aims to build on this growth, and to provide outstanding customer service combined with prompt delivery from locally held stocks.
In addition to the Intersorb® soda lime products, LSE will hold stocks of Premier Chemicals’ other diving chemicals such as Molecular Sieve, Activated Carbon and Purafil Select, providing a ‘one stop shop’ for the subsea contractors’ diving chemical requirements.
For additional information, and for the supply of chemicals for use in commercial subsea operations contact Premier Chemicals (www.premchemltd.com) or LSE (www.lifesupportengineering.com). Premier Chemicals is the exclusive distributor worldwide (outside of North America) for Intersurgical’s carbon dioxide (CO2) absorbent products for all non-medical applications. Premier Chemicals supplies to North America on a non-exclusive basis. Life Support Engineering is a commercial diving equipment stockist and manufacturer with 40 years experience within the commercial diving equipment industry.

DIVELIME and rEvo announce that Intersorb® 812 is approved for use in rEvo Rebreathers
DIVELIME, the UK based distributor of dive grade soda lime Intersorb® 812 and rEvo Rebreathers, the Belgium based manufacturer of the rEvo II and rEvo III closed circuit rebreathers (CCR) have announced that Intersorb® 812 has been approved for use in all versions of rEvo’s rebreather products.
Intersorb® 812 is an 8-12 mesh (1.0-2.5mm) dive grade soda lime manufactured in the UK by Intersurgical, and distributed by Premier Chemicals Ltd via their subsidiary DIVELIME. rEvo Rebreathers have recently evaluated Intersorb® 812 in tests according to the EN14143 standard. Based on the results of these tests, rEvo are approving Intersorb® 812 for use in their rebreathers, with the following recommendations:-
Water temperature 4°C to 15°C
Recommended* maximum dive time 2hrs 30mins or one cycle every 1hr 45mins
Water temperature 15°C (or above)
Recommended* maximum dive time 4hrs 30mins or one cycle every 3 hours
*recommendation is based on constant O2 consumption of 1.33l/min at 30RMV (at 40m depth, with air diluent, and minimum 1.25kg scrubber material in each canister). No assumption should be made for longer durations because of eventual lower oxygen consumption.
The 2.50kg total fill weight (1.25kg per scrubber canister) for Intersorb® 812 combined with its competitive price makes Intersorb® 812 a very cost-effective solution for rEvo users. Intersorb® 812 is available in 2 pack sizes – 5 litre (4.5kg) Jerricans, and 20kg kegs.
Intersorb® 812 is available for purchase directly from DIVELIME and rEvo Rebreathers
rEvo Rebreathers have been manufacturing and selling rebreathers since 2007 and now have more than 400 in use globally. The rEvo III carries the CE mark.
DIVELIME is the distributor for Intersurgical’s carbon dioxide (CO2) absorbent products aimed at rebreather diving – Intersorb® 812 and Spherasorb® 408. Premier Chemicals’ subsidiary, DIVELIME, is currently the sole distributor of Intersurgical’s diving grade products worldwide, outside of North America.
